Weekly Stable Update

Peter Petrify

Coming off a week off the week prior, Pete did a good job overcoming the outside draw from the 7 post and put in a strong effort, finishing 4th at Saratoga Harness this past week. Despite getting away at the back of the pack, he closed strongly late and was not far behind the rest of the field for a respectable fourth-place finish in a fast mile that went in 1:53 and change. He is back in to go this Saturday night at Saratoga Harness, where he draws the 8 post with Justin Huckabone back in the bike. He will look to overcome another outside draw this week.

Beef N Cheddar

Coming off a respectable fifth-place finish despite the big step up in class his last time out, Beef enjoyed a well-deserved week off this past week. He now makes his first start at Plainridge today (Thursday) in a $12,000 race. He draws the outside with the 7 post, but we are excited to see how he performs on the bigger track. James Hardy will be in the bike.

Manhattan Artist

Arty put in another respectable effort this past Saturday night at Saratoga Harness, finishing a close fifth. He was not beaten by much and has continued to be a consistent check earner for the stable, only missing just once so far. He enjoys a well-deserved week off this week, and we expect he will be refreshed and back in his usual class next Saturday night under the lights at Saratoga Harness.

Beat Bobby Bayou

Bobby put in a solid effort on Monday in his debut at Saratoga Harness. He was right up there with the leaders in the early going and stayed there for the entirety of the race. He was unable to find much racing room late, but still showed some trot through the passing lane and closed up the rail nicely for a game third-place finish in his first start back on a half-mile track in 2026. He is now back in to go this Saturday night at Tioga Downs, where he draws the rail in a $7,500 race. He is listed as the 5-2 morning-line favorite with Mike Merton doing the driving. We think he should have a good shot to pick up his first win of 2026, as he has been steadily getting back into racing form.

Cruzin America

Coming off a game second-place finish at Tioga Downs the previous week, Cruzin headed back to Pocono Downs on Saturday. The race did not set up particularly well for him, and despite showing early speed and getting away second, he was unable to find much racing room in the final stretch. He made a move up the passing lane late and made up some ground but was unable to hit the board, finishing a close sixth. Cruzin has been putting together some good efforts but has been caught in some tough fields with fast miles. He is back in at Pocono Downs this Saturday from the 5 post with Brett Beckwith back in the bike. He is listed at 7-2 on the morning line in an $11,000 race and we are optimistic to see how he performs this time out with a little bit of class relief.

Phantom Tom

Tom made his Maine debut at Cumberland Raceway a respectable one this past weekend, finishing a close third. He showed strong trot late and was closing well on the outside. He was not far behind the top two and finished a very close third in just his first start there. He is back in at Cumberland this Saturday, where he draws the 6 post with David Ingraham in the sulky.

Dance Machine

Coming off a strong second-place finish his last time out, Dance Machine enjoyed the week off this past weekend. He is back in to go this Saturday at Batavia Downs, where he draws the rail in an $8,000 race. We think he should be a major factor in this field and are optimistic heading into his Batavia debut for the LLC.

Wonka Bar

Wonka was unable to overcome the outside draw and continue his on-the-board streak this past Saturday at Saratoga Harness. Leaving from the 7 post, he was eventually able to clear to the lead, but after a taxing trip he was passed late and was unable to hold off the rest of the field. He ended up finishing seventh in a very speedy mile for the class that went in 1:56 and change. Prior to this start, Wonka had been incredibly consistent, recording four second-place finishes and two third-place finishes in his previous six starts. He will get this week off to freshen up, and we expect he will be right back in his usual spot the following weekend.

Yamaka

Coming off a week of rest, Yamaka returned to action this past Saturday at Cumberland Raceway. The outside draw proved to be a bit too much to overcome this time out, as he finished eighth. Despite a couple of lesser efforts in his last few starts, Yammy has been as consistent as any horse could be over the past few months. We will await the entries for his next start as the veteran looks to get back to his winning ways.

RobinTheCradle

Just when we thought we couldn’t be any more impressed with Robin’s recent form, he proved us wrong by winning again in a lifetime mark this past weekend. Robin paced a very impressive 1:53.1 at the Northfield Park half-mile track in a $12,000 race, making it two wins in a row in Ohio for the stable. He fought off the late charge of a respectable competitor, handled the pressure well, and got to the wire just in time, with the rest of the field never posing much of a threat. We continue to be extremely impressed with how this 3-year-old has been performing lately, and trainer Nate Alexander has done a phenomenal job. Robin will get a very well deserved week of rest this week and we will await the entries for his next start as he looks to make it three straight victories for the LLC.

DiscoveringTheHunt

Continuing to slug it out with some of the toughest pacers on the East Coast, Hunt earned her first check for the stable this past week. She was right there with the heavy hitters and picked up a fifth-place check in a $19,000 race at Yonkers Raceway on Friday night. She was only beaten by 1¾ lengths in a competitive field. Hunt is right back in at Yonkers this Friday, drawing the 2 post once again, with Jordan Stratton in the bike. She gets a bit of class relief and steps down into a $15,000 race, where she is listed as the heavy 7-5 morning-line favorite and looks to earn her first win for the stable.

Besta Blue Chip

Our Chapter Seven yearling, Besta Blue Chip, came up sick last week and was unable to make his third career start. His health and long-term development remain are top priority, so we will patiently wait for Besta to recover and get back to being race-ready. He is in good hands with trusted trainer Gary Levine, and we will continue to provide updates as they come in on this 2 year old trotter.

Top Notch Treasure

Coming off his dominant Maine Sire Stakes victory in his career debut, Top Notch Treasure silenced the doubters by picking up another Maine Sire Stakes victory for a purse of $15,328. He got right to the lead from the 4 post and showed us that his first win was not a fluke. He remains undefeated and makes it 2 for 2 in his young career, and we were pleased to have the support of Camp Kippewa by our side. It was an amazing race and an amazing experience, and we continue to be very impressed with the job young trainer Chris Dubois has done with this colt so far. We will await Top Notch’s next start as he looks to remain undefeated and make it three straight victories.

Weekly Recap

Overall, it was another strong week for the stable, highlighted by Top Notch Treasure picking up his second consecutive Maine Sire Stakes victory and RobinTheCradle also making it back-to-back wins, while setting a new lifetime mark.

The stable continues to perform well as another exciting summer rolls on and July comes to a close. As always, we look forward to another exciting week of racing and the next round of starts for the stable.
