Weekly Stable Update
Peter Petrify
Pete arrived in Minnesota last week and is settling into his new home in Nick Roland’s barn. We expect him to make his Minnesota debut for the stable soon.
Beef N Cheddar
Beef is now in Delaware and has joined Jamie Sullivan’s barn. He is entered right back in to go this Monday, where he draws the 1 post at Harrington Raceway. He is listed as the 2-1 favorite on the morning line, and we look for Beef to make his Delaware debut a winning one.
Manhattan Artist
Arty will be making his debut today for Denny “Booch” Bucceri’s barn at Batavia Downs. He moves up in class and draws the 6 post, so he may need a race, but we are excited for this new chapter with Arty.
Cruzin America
Cruzin has relocated to Nate Alexander’s barn in Ohio and made his debut there for the stable this week. He unfortunately made a break and, as a result, finished toward the back of a 10-horse field at Scioto Downs. It was only his first start out there, so we expect he may need a few starts to settle in and adjust, while also giving Nate some time to get to know him.
Phantom Tom
Tom got the week off after picking up the stable’s first-ever dead-heat victory at the Skowhegan Fair his last time out. He has been on the board in all four of his starts in Maine so far, and we look for him to continue that streak his next time out.
Dance Machine
Coming off his impressive win last time out, Dance Machine put in another very strong effort this week. Despite drawing the 9 post and starting from the second tier, he still finished a very game second and just barely missed the win in a speedy mile for the class of 1:54 flat. He is right back in at Batavia this Saturday, where he draws the 3 post in a $9,500 race, and we are optimistic for another strong effort this time out.
Wonka Bar
Wonka has joined Rob Harmon’s stable and will be making his debut for the new barn this Saturday at Vernon Downs. He is listed as the even-money favorite on the morning line from the 4 post with Chris Long in the bike, and he looks to break his maiden.
Yamaka
Yammy gets the week off, and we will await the entries for his next start as we look to get him into another Maine Fair race.
RobinTheCradle
Robin had a bit of a rough last start and unfortunately finished 7th at Scioto Downs on Saturday night. Prior to this start, Robin had been very sharp with 2 wins, 1 third, and 1 fourth in his previous 5 starts. He is back in at Northfield Park, where he picked up his most recent win, this Monday. He draws the 3 post in a $14,000 race, and we look for a stronger effort from Robin this time out as he gets back on the half-mile track.
DiscoveringTheHunt
Hunt got a very well-deserved week off this past week after she blew us away in her last start with a very impressive win at Yonkers Raceway in a $23,000 race. She now steps up in class to a $28,000 race, where she draws the 6 post in a 6-horse field and has Jimmy Marohn back in the bike. The Bako barn continues to have her firing as of late, with 2 seconds and a win in her last 3 starts in some very tough Yonkers classes. We look forward to seeing how Hunt handles this step up in class as she looks to make it two in a row.
Besta Blue Chip
Our Chapter Seven yearling, Besta Blue Chip, has now joined Rob Harmon’s team and will be making his debut for the barn this Monday at Yonkers Raceway. He draws the 7 post in a $20,000 stakes race, and we look for some improvement as Besta makes just his 4th career start.
Top Notch Treasure
Top Notch’s undefeated streak unfortunately came to an end, as he now moves to 4-for-5 with an 80% win rate in his young career. He put in a strong effort from the 6 post, got away nicely in the pocket, and appeared to have a real shot coming into the final stretch. Unfortunately, he was unable to make a strong enough move and did not get up in time, finishing a close third. It was still a respectable effort in a $17,329 race, and we are very pleased with Top Notch’s first 5 efforts so far. We await the entries for his next start and are optimistic he can get right back to his winning ways next time out.
