Weekly Stable Update

Beef N Cheddar

After a win and a second in just his first two starts in Delaware, Beef came up sick and has been taking it easy and resting up over the past two weeks. He is now back in to go Wednesday at Harrington Raceway, where he will make just his third start in Delaware. Despite drawing the 7 post and coming off a few weeks of rest, we look for a strong effort from Beef with Montrell Teague back in the bike.

Manhattan Artist

Arty got a rough trip this week at Batavia Downs and was unable to be much of a factor this time out. Attempting to get out early, he was ultimately beat off the gate in a fast first quarter and had no choice but to settle in and drop into 4th. He was then left with a tough first-over trip that was simply too much to overcome. He fought on the outside for a while before eventually fading out. We understand that firing out for the lead can be hit or miss, and we would rather be aggressive and go down swinging. We look for a cleaner trip his next time out.

Cruzin America

Cruzin finished 6th in his first start at Northfield Park this past week and has been facing some poor racing luck and rough trips over his past few starts. However, that is just part of the game, and we remain confident in both Cruzin and trainer Nate Alexander. We are optimistic for an improved effort his next time out.

Phantom Tom

Tommy Boy picked up a 5th-place finish at the fair in Maine this week. Although that brings an end to his on-the-board streak, where he had finished on the board in every one of his starts in Maine so far, he still picked up a 5th-place check and put in a decent effort. He is right back in on short rest, and we look forward to another solid race.

Dance Machine

Dance Machine turned in another strong effort last time out, finishing a solid 3rd once again at Batavia Downs. Booch did a great job firing him out from the 4 post and getting to the front. Dance Machine led the whole way and was strong on the lead before being barely caught at the wire in a three-horse photo finish. He only lost by a quarter of a length, and we were very pleased with the drive from trainer/driver Booch. He is right back in from the 4 post again Saturday night at Batavia, and we look for him to fire right out to the lead yet again.

Wonka Bar

Wonka is just leaving us speechless at this point. He handled the step up in class to a $9,000 race at Tioga Downs just fine and picked up another huge win, making it two in a row. He waited patiently in the pocket before making his move in the final stretch, and from there it was game over. He powered past the leader and drew away crossing the wire, setting a new lifetime mark of 1:53 flat. We are truly blown away by Wonka lately. He has now picked up a second and three very impressive wins in just his first four starts in the Harmon Stable.

Yamaka

The outside post was a little too much for Yammy to overcome, as he wasn’t much of a factor this time out. He has had some very unlucky draws lately and continues to get stuck with outside posts. However, he is coming off a very impressive wire-to-wire victory in his previous start and continues to be a consistent racehorse nonetheless.

RobinTheCradle

Robin returned to the winner’s circle with a very special victory for the LLC, scoring a dominant wire-to-wire win from the 7 post at the amazing Delaware Fair in Ohio in a $15,000 race. It was a great feeling to get a special win with a special horse and trainer on a special race day. This 3-year-old pacer continues to impress, and we are very optimistic about what’s to come with this colt.

DiscoveringTheHunt

Coming off a strong victory and a new lifetime mark in her previous start, Hunt handled the step up in class to a $24,000 race at Yonkers well. She put in a strong effort, earning a 5th-place check and only missing the whole race by approximately 3–4 lengths. She is right back in to go in the same class and moves inside to the 3 post Tuesday night at Yonkers, where she should definitely be competitive yet again.

Top Notch Treasure

Top Notch will make his Plainridge debut on Monday, where he draws the 7 post with Bruce Ranger back in the bike. He will face his toughest challenge yet as he steps up into a Massachusetts Sire Stakes race going for a purse of $42,800. We can’t wait to see how Top Notch handles the challenge and look for him to make it six wins in just eight starts.
