Beef N Cheddar
Coming off a strong second place finish in his previous start, Beef was unable to be much of a factor this time around due to the outside post and a difficult race setup. He closed some ground late but ultimately finished 6th. He’ll get the week off, and with Dover Downs opening up, we expect him to potentially be racing there very soon.
Manhattan Artist
Coming off a week off, Arty was very game in victory as he got the job done at Batavia Downs this weekend. “Booch” gave him a great drive from the 2 post, and when he made his move late, Arty responded well to get up on the outside just in time at the wire. We were very pleased with his effort and now await entries for his next start as he looks to go back to back.
Cruzin America
Coming off a very impressive victory at Northfield Park, Cruzin now steps up in class to an $11,500 race. He draws the rail again with Justin Irvine back in the bike, where he is listed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite in a nine-horse field. He’ll also look to make it two wins in a row for the LLC.
Dance Machine
Coming off a week of rest, Dance Machine got off the gate nicely and secured a tuck in third during the early going. However, he was eventually forced into a first over trip that proved too much to overcome this time around, and he faded to finish 7th. We expect a stronger effort from him next time out.
Wonka Bar
Wonka put in a solid effort in his third start back at Saratoga Harness from the 5 post. He got off the gate well and was forwardly positioned early. He ultimately was left to try to do it first over, and while the trip proved a bit too much, he fought hard on the outside and held on for a 5th-place finish. He is right back in action, drawing the 2 post, and we look for him to take advantage of the inside draw and have a very strong chance this time around.
RobinTheCradle
Robin got a very well deserved week off following his victory in the Claiming Series Final for a $30,000 purse. We eagerly await entries for his next start as he looks to make it two wins in a row.
DiscoveringTheHunt
Hunt once again put in a strong effort Tuesday night at Yonkers, finishing 3rd and not missing by much. She has been fitting in very well with the $50,000 claimers at Yonkers. She is right back in the same class again this Tuesday night, racing for a $24,000 purse. Unfortunately, she draws outside with the 7 post, but we look for another strong effort with Jim Marohn back in the bike.
Top Notch Treasure
Top Notch picked up a very important 3r place finish at Plainridge last week in a Massachusetts Sire Stakes race. This finish allowed him to qualify for the $165,000 final back at Plainridge this Thursday. Top Notch will face a very tough task in the final, drawing outside with the 7 post, but we hope he can rise to the occasion nonetheless.
