Beef N Cheddar
Beef bounced back from his last start in a big way and made his Dover Downs debut a winning one. He appreciated the 5/8 mile track as he fired right out to the lead from the 7 post and went on to wire the field in a speedy 1:52.4 mile. We are very pleased with Beef’s recent success, and he seems to have found a good home in the Sullivan Barn in Delaware.
Manhattan Artist
Coming off a strong victory his last time out, Arty turned in another game effort as he just missed at the wire for a strong second place finish at Batavia Downs this weekend. We think if he could have maintained the lead and not allowed the retake, he likely wouldn’t have been caught on the front end. Nonetheless, we are pleased with Arty’s recent form, and he has been racing very well at Batavia lately.
Cruzin America
Coming off a very impressive victory at Northfield Park, Cruzin stepped up in class to an $11,500 race and finished a clear second as he just barely missed going back to back. He was very game but simply got beat by a horse that was not going to lose that night. We expect Cruzin to be right back in to go this coming Monday at Northfield Park.
Wonka Bar
Wonka put in a decent effort at Saratoga Harness his last time out. He ultimately didn’t get the best trip or race setup after getting away third, and although he didn’t make much of an impression on the leader, he fought well and picked up a fourth place check in a race that went a very speedy 1:53 and change for the class on the half mile track. Wonka is right back in the 2 by 5s this Saturday afternoon, where he draws the rail and gets a driver change to Kyle Swift. We look forward to this start and expect him to have a good shot at picking up his first Saratoga victory for the stable.
RobinTheCradle
Robin continues to impress us as he went back to back, winning his second consecutive start in impressive fashion yet again. He fired off the gate and got to the lead, and when he was passed, it was only for a brief moment as he confidently retook the lead with ease. From there, he controlled the tempo for the remainder of the race and cruised home to victory at Dayton Raceway on Friday. Robin has been having a monster three year old season, and we couldn’t be happier with this horse’s recent success.
DiscoveringTheHunt
Hunt put in a very strong effort from the 7 post her last time out. Despite being dismissed as a massive longshot at odds of 80 to 1, she worked out a nice trip, and when the inside opened up late, she made up a ton of ground closing along the rail to finish a strong second in another $50,000 claiming race at Yonkers Raceway. She raced again tonight from the 6 post and unfortunately finished sixth after being unable to get involved early. However, she was closing late and wasn’t far off the rest of the field at the wire. We expect a stronger effort next time out and think it’s only a matter of time before she breaks through in this class.
Top Notch Treasure
Top Notch made the final start of his two year old season in a $165,000 Maine Sire Stakes Final. He left from the 7 post and went right to the lead but eventually got choked up a bit and faded to finish a distant last. Nonetheless, Top Notch had an incredible run during his two year old campaign, and we can’t wait for his return as a three year old to do some more damage in the Maine and Massachusetts Sire Stakes as he continues to develop.
Peter Petrify N
After several months off, Peter made his return to the races and his debut in the Roland Barn, marking the stable’s first ever start in Canada. He finished fourth in the Open and wasn’t too far off the rest of the field. We are pleased to have Peter back in action and to now have the LLC represented in Canada with Nick Roland.
