Weekly Stable Update

This past week, the stable sent out the following horses:

Yamaka:

Yamaka raced ok at Bangor this week, finishing a close 4th against a tough group of pacers in a very fast 1:56:4 mile for the class. He got right to the lead early, but after a retake, he was unable to find racing room late and never quite got the chance to fully kick home. Despite things not really setting up his way in the race, he still fought on well and did what he could to hold for a close 4th place against a solid field.

Phantom Tom:

Tom picked up a third-place check this week. He had the 1 post but was unable to do much with it after getting away fourth. He showed some late speed closing and was able to rally for third. He continues his “ho-hum” season, but he has been consistently picking up checks, so we will keep our heads up — and in Gary we trust. He is back in to go Monday at Saratoga Harness in his usual class and unfortunately drew the 7 post, so we’ll hope for another check.

Peter Petrify N:

Pete was the star of the stable this week, putting in a phenomenal effort and picking up a wire-to-wire win at Plainridge. Driver Mitch Cushing gave him a perfect drive from the rail, firing out to the lead and bringing home the victory in a speedy 1:52.3. He seems to have really found his stride in the Quevedo barn and is loving the 5/8-mile track. We still await the Plainridge entires at this time but expect Pete to be right back in the same class.

Wonka Bar:

Wonka Bar put in another strong effort from the 2 post this week. The 1 horse proved to be much the best, pacing a very fast 1:55.4 for the class, but Wonka was clearly best of the rest, finishing a solid second and earning another nice check for the stable. He will continue to take advantage of those NW1 classes while he still can. He is back in to go Tuesday in the same class and drew the 6 post.

Beat Bobby Bayou:

Bobby made his 2026 debut at Tioga Downs this past weekend. Despite it being his first race back after a long layoff and drawing the 7 post, he still managed to clear to the lead early. He was eventually passed by the 1-2 favorite but held on to pick up a fifth-place check. It is a miracle to have him back racing, and we are glad to now have that first race freshener under his belt. He is back in to go this Sunday and unfortunately drew the 7 post again, but he drops to a softer class and is listed as the 5-2 morning line favorite.

Beef N Cheddar:

Beef got a rough start in his debut for the stable, attempting to leave from the 7 post. He fired off the gate strongly and definitely showed some early speed, but was unable to clear the heavy favorite from the inside and ended up parked out. He unfortunately drew outside again this week with the 8 post, which won’t make things easy, but we will keep an eye on him this Saturday at Saratoga Harness.

Dance Machine:

Dance Machine had some technical difficulties getting up to the gate and made a break in his debut for the stable. The horse was checked over afterward and received some much-needed dental and veterinary work. According to trainer Denny “Booch” Bucceri, he now feels like a brand new horse. We will just pretend that first race never happened and look forward to his real debut for the stable this weekend. He races Saturday night at Buffalo Raceway and unfortunately drew the 7 post once again. However, we expect a much stronger effort this time around.

Manhattan Artist:

After discussing things with trainer Irvin Crews, we decided to give Manhattan Artist the first week off following the claim. He is now set to make his debut for Steve Moskowitz Racing LLC this Saturday at Saratoga Harness. He drew the rail, and we think he has a great chance to get it done in his first start for the stable.

Cruzin America:

Our new horse with trainer Tee Wine makes his debut for the stable this Sunday at Tioga Downs. We have heard great things about both the horse and Tee Wine, and we are very excited for this first start. He drew the 2 post in a five-horse field, which we love to see, and we are very optimistic heading into the race.
