Weekly Update

This past week, we sent out the following horses:

The Y brothers made their return at Cumberland after a little time off.

Yamaka put in a decent effort in his first race back from the 5 post, picking up a 4th-place check. We expect he will be sharper next time out after getting that first race back under his belt.

Despite not picking up a check this week, Yachtsman showed some life even from the 8 post. It looked like he had a solid trip developing and wasn’t far off the rest of the field, but just couldn’t quite get there late. We’re hoping for an inside draw and an improved effort next time out.

Phantom Tom: Tom was the 5-2 morning line favorite from the rail this week but made an unfortunate break right before the start. On the bright side, driver Jim Devaux was able to get him back trotting, and he finished the race nicely. He may just need some minor equipment adjustments, and we hope for a much better outcome next time out.

Wonka Bar: Wonka Bar finally drew inside this week and fired out to an easy lead, taking full advantage of his post position. He looked strong on the front through about the halfway point before being overtaken and fading from there. This was still only his third start of the year, and he may just need a little more time to find his rhythm.

Peter Petrify N: After his impressive win last time out, Pete had an unfortunate relapse leaving from the 8 post this week. Trainer/driver Irvin Crews did all he could to get Peter involved early, but he was parked outside for the majority of the mile. Despite the tough trip, he was still able to clear to the lead at one point, once again showing he has so much pace. However, the taxing journey took its toll, and he faded late. He drew the 8 post again this week, which we were not pleased to see, but we expect a much better trip and for him to be a major factor this time out.

Although it was not a very profitable week for the stable, our first ever Steve Moskowitz Racing LLC Giveaway was a great success, generating hundreds of new followers and strong social media growth. We will continue to provide updates and content and are hopeful for improved results in the coming week. Stay tuned, much more to come.
